FAQ

What is Sugaring?

Sugaring is an ancient method of hair removal that originated in Egypt. (They say Cleopatra was sugared!) Sugar, Water, and Lemon juice are melted together to create a honey-like paste. The paste is molded in the opposite direction of hair growth, and removed using a quick, fast flick! This results in minimal to zero breakage of the hair follicle which means less ingrowns! Needless to say, it is the safest, least painful, and most effective natural hair removal method!

How long should my hair be for Sugaring?

The hair should be about 1/4-1/2 inch long. (think a long grain of rice). It is always better to be too long than too short! We can always trim if necessary.

What are the contraindications for Sugaring?

What is a Lash Lift?

Essentially a perm for your natural lashes, this safe and easy process temporarily lifts and curls lashes for 6-8 weeks. For those looking to shave a little time off of their morning routines, this is a treatment to consider!

What is the pre-care for a Lash Lift?

  • Eyelash Extensions need to be removed 3-5 days prior to your appointment.

  • Come to your appointment with clean eyes (no eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, etc)

  • Remove contact lenses prior to your appointment and those who have had ocular surgeries, including blepharoplasty (eyelid lifts) and LASIK must wait a minimum of 6-12 months before receiving this treatment.

What is the post-care for a Lash Lift?

  • For the first 24-48 hours after your appointment, avoid getting your lashes wet or exposing to heat (this includes showering, steaming, and/or sweating). Refrain from wearing eye makeup, eye creams, and lash serums during this period as well.

  • We recommend and retail the Elleeplex Clear Aftercare Mascara. Specially formulated to help restore proteins, speed up cell generation, increase potassium channels in the cells and increase moisture levels to the hair. Includes sunflower oil extract, an anti-oxidant that helps protect the hair and give longer lasting results

  • Ditch the waterproof mascara! Use a water-based formula that will remove easily—no rubbing!

  • We recommend using a growth enhancing eyelash serum nightly to promote hair growth and prolong lift life.

I am pregnant, can I still get a Lash Lift?

The solution used in the process does not come in contact with the skin, but if any adverse reaction does occur, use of antihistamines cannot be used while pregnant. Additionally, hormone fluctuations during pregnancy and breastfeeding can alter hair growth and can lead to a shorter lift timeline. Always consult with your physician prior to receiving any service while pregnant and/or breastfeeding.
